Lava lamps have been around since the 1960’s and haven’t lost their 'wow' factor after all this time! The concept was originally used as an egg timer and then adapted to create amazing mood lighting that became a defining feature of the 70’s. Mathmos are the company behind it all so were our natural choice. After all, the ultimate gadget shop needed to have the ultimate lava lamps!
Basically the lava is heated by a bulb in the lamp base until it rises in blobs. As the lava rises it cools which causes it to fall back to the bottom where it rejoins the main lava pool. This cycle continues, over and over, creating the unique lava lamp effect!
The telstar rocket is great for anyone that’s into astronomy, and will be the finishing touch for any bedroom.
The lava lamp bottles can be replaced should you want to change the colour but all of ours come with blue and green.
