Product Description

Meet MiP, a gesture controlled robot with personality from Wowwee. This marvel of modern technology can balance, drive and dance on two wheels, either automatically or under your control. MiP is packed full of sensors and a swoosh of your hand can instruct him to move forwards or back. Switch to a different mode and play follow the leader as he chases after you around the room! If you’re worn out with all the hand signals and robot chases, simply switch him to auto and he will happily roam about the place on his own, skilfully avoiding obstacles as he goes. MiPs immersive personality changes depending on how you interact with him, treat him nicely and you’ll have a well behaved robot, treat him badly and you’ll have one angry little chap!

If you have an iOS or Android smart phone then you can do even more! Draw paths for MiP to follow or play songs from your phone and watch him bust some moves (you can even adjust the tempo if you think he’s not dancing fast enough!).

The unique dual wheel technology allows MiP to balance all by himself. He can carry his own weight and there is even a fun stacking game you can play with your friends. Included in the box is an attachable tray for the balancing games. Carefully stack as many items as you can on the plate against other MiP’s to see who is the balancing king. Or you can even balance one MiP on top of another!

With a whole shed load of game play and more in development, MiP is jam packed with exciting technology and endless entertainment.

Finally, for any Dads reading this, we know what you are thinking and the answer is ‘Yes! It can bring you a can of beer!’

Please note: MiP is not compatible with older models of iPhone and Android phone, please click here to check your device compatibility.

Amazing - Review by Jenny

Really good and it does amazing things.

A little guy with a lot of character!! - Review by Jayy

This little robot called MIP (Mobile Inverted Pendulum) is quite possibly the most adorable electronic life form around, next to that of his successor Miposaur due to be released later this year. MIP has several modes each indicated by a LED light on his chest (See website for details http://www.wowwee.com/mip/) . Modes can be selected by turning the wheel, until the colour changes. He has three built in IR sensors, that register hand movements (Gesture Sense) and obstacles in his path. Aside from making a lot of random noises, he is by far the most characteristic robot on the market. My favorite mode is Roam, as I find it ever so intriguing watching a robot operate by itself, as he strolls around aware of his surroundings. The Drive mode is pretty cool too, allowing control of MiP.

The first robot WowWee introduced was the original Robosapien, a toy I had as a child, and compared to that this little guy has come far, his in built sensors and smartphone functionality allow him to become that little bit more exciting. I wasn't at all impressed with the Robosapien, but that is most likely due to his lack of sensors, and incapability to be autonomous. The new range of WowWee products is proving much more technical, with modern technology increasing by the day. I purchased MIP for £49.95, under the RED5 sale price, which is a lot lower than his average retail price, ranging between £80 to £100. I do still think even with the sale price, he is rather expensive, but I suppose you are paying for the tech, and brand name. I intend to purchase the new Miposaur when it is released, which I am sure will be as enjoyable, and better yet MIP is compatible with Miposaur for interaction.

Overall this gadget is a must have for any robot enthusiast, technical collector, or young child, as the age simply doesn't matter, I think everyone will enjoy the quirkiness of the MIP bot!

Autonomous fun for all..... - Review by Daniel Chilvers

I have always liked Robot's. My wife went crazy when I bought a Robot Dog (very expensive and now obsolete) a few years ago, however MIP is a much more reasonable Robot. It has a good amount of modes to use. These are easily selected. My son is seven (yes I let him play with MIP too) can easily operate him. The drive function using a smart phone/tablet is my favourite. MIP works perfectly well on carpet and hard flooring. I would recommend this to any Robot fan looking for a reasonably priced Robot.

Surprisingly Good! - Review by Patrick

My son got this for his 8th birthday the other day - I didn't think he would play with it much as his cousin got one for xmas and I thought it was kinda boring but I was wrong.
We're all enjoying it actually. My son loves the boxing feature and often attacks me or Zoomer!
He loves making it dance as well.

The only thing I've noticed is... he is power hungry! We've already had to replace his batteries this morning = 2 days of nighttime play.
I will have to buy rechargeable batteries I think!

A very impressive balancing robot - I keep thinking of it as a Segway robot!

Overall, we are happy with the purchase and I'm glad this is not just a 1hour use novelty toy.
We got the black version as well and I'm planning on painting some of his parts with red stripes to make him look cooler!
Here's a video I took last night.

Mip - Review by Jozef

Very good because it can hold very heavy things like a can of coke or the tv remote.
